Dinner and overnight at the Arusha Coffee Lodge

Day 3: Tarangire National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Tarangire National Park – home of the highest population of elephants, wildebeest, pride of lions, and over 400 species of birds. There will be lots of time for taking pictures. We’ll have a relaxing lunch in the great outdoors and then continue our game drive until the African sun begins to set. We return to camp in time for a luxuriously hot shower followed by dinner and storytelling.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Hotel – situated on the edge of the escarpment with breathtakingly spectacular views that stretch into the horizon

Day 4: Manyara National Park

After breakfast, we drive to Lake Manyara National Park with packed lunch, where we enjoy game viewing at the park until late afternoon.  Lake Manyara is one of the most diverse of Tanzania’s National Parks, with its combination of the Rift Valley, ground water forest, lake, and dense woodland.

Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Hotel

Day 5: Rift Valley Escarpment

Today is filled with options. You can walk to a neighbouring coffee plantation or visit the village market and do some shopping in the morning, returning to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you have the option to hike in the Ngorongoro Forest and visit a local Iraqw traditional homestead to learn more about the culture of the tribe, or you rejuvenate at the pool before drinks and dinner.

Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge - seated at the highest point on the crater’s rim and offering you supreme views

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Today you’ll have an all day excursion to the World Heritage Site, Ngorongoro Crater, for game viewing on the crater floor.  The viewpoint of the crater is about a one-hour drive and the 102 sq mile floor is bordered by the intact crater walls rising regally up over 1,000 ft to the rim. The crater is the habitat of the larger African mammals. Here is one of the few remaining places where you can encounter the highly endangered and illusive black rhino. It is also possible to see elephant (mostly lone or “bachelor” bulls), prides of lion, hippo, a resident herd of wildebeest, zebra, various gazelles, impala, baboon and much more. Lunch will be at a picnic retreat nestled in the crater with spectacular views of the rim and the lazily meandering river. In the afternoon, we continue exploring the crater and make our way up the winding rim to our lodge.

Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge - seated at the highest point on the crater’s rim and offering you supreme views

Days 7-9: Serengeti National Park

The Serengeti is one of the most staggeringly picturesque wildlife havens that will remain etched in your mind. This vast savannah hosts the world’s largest surviving concentration of plains game. In addition to the short grass plains there are beautiful rocky out-cropping called kopjes and thousands of acres of bush and acacia woodland. The Seronera area has permanent water and therefore is an excellent area to spot the big cats and elephant in the dry season. Today we’ll continue northward and, depending on the season, find our base for the next three days from which we’ll explore the changing eco-systems and search for lion, leopard, elephant, spotted hyena, antelope and soaring eagles.

Dinner and overnight at Dunia Camp – a quaint haven nestled in the Serengeti known for its simple elegance and warm hospitality

Day 10: We have come to the end of our safari

Early morning departure from camp to an Airstrip where you’ll say goodbye to your guide and board an Air shuttle flight to your next destination, wherever you find yourself going next. Depending on your plans, our guides can work with you to make travel arrangements to other destinations. We will make sure to take care of you whether you are traveling onwards or catching a flight back home.

Note: If you have a few extra days, consider extending your stay by adding a beach getaway to Zanzibar.
