Serena Hotel – an oasis of calm with exceptional first-class service and amenities close to the Indian Ocean.

Days 2-5:  Dar es Salaam - Selous Game Reserve

After a leisurely breakfast, it’s a seven-hour drive from Dar towards Selous Game Reserve. Some guests may choose to fly to Selous. Please let us know your preference, and we can make flight arrangements for you. When we arrive at our destination, enjoy a relaxing afternoon at the camp.

Selous Game Reserve is Africa’s largest protected wildlife reserve, and so remains one of the untouched gems in Tanzania. It is popular for activities like hiking through the reserve with a guide, or taking a boat safari on the Great Rufiji River. You get to view wildlife up close and personal. The next three days are devoted to exploring the Great Selous, with options of walking in the morning or evening, and day and evening game drive safaris.

Rufiji River Camp – a rustic hideaway located along the sprawling Great Rufiji River

Days 6-9:  Selous - Mikumi National Park

After a few days in Selous Game Reserve you will transfer by road to Mikumi National Park. This park is well known for spotting lions, elephants, leopards and buffalo. Here you will get to spend 3 days enjoying game drive in the park. Lunch will be at the lodge or at the picnic site. In the evening, you will be transferring back to the camp for dinner and relaxation.

On day 7 you will go on a day trip to the Udzungwa Mountains for a full day. Udzungwa Mountains National Park covers an area of 1900 square km and is one of the newest National Parks in Tanzania, home of the Red Colubus monkey, elephants, buffalos, leopards, sable antelope and different species of birds. There are a number of activities available to you, depending on your interests.  You can hike to the magnificient Sanje waterfalls or climb to the summit of the Luhombereo.  We then return to camp.

Vuma Hills Camp – located in the mountain ranges and offering you a quiet retreat

Days 10-12: Mikumi -  Ruaha National Park

The Great Ruaha River is the main feature of the park. The game viewing, which can be done by land or by boating safaris, is second to none.

During the dry season, you will find vast concentrations of elephants, buffalo, and gazelle congregating around the river bed for water. There are three days available to you for exploring the never-ending wonders of this idyllic place.  While you are exploring the park over these three days, lunch will be served at the camp, or you can take it with you. Dinner will be had at the camp.

Ruaha River Camp – a lavish and comfortable retreat on the banks of the grand Ruaha River.

Day 13:  We have come to the end of our safari.

Depending on your plans, our guides can work with you to make travel arrangements to other destinations.  We will make sure to take care of you whether you are traveling onwards or catching a flight back home.

Note: If you have a few extra days, consider extending your stay by adding a beach getaway to Zanzibar.
